This Rikyu Chasen 利休茶筅 is named after the famous tea ceremony master Sen no Rikyu, and is crafted with dark bamboo, colored by charring the bamboo during creation.
These whisks are not only sturdier but also offer more flexibility and a bit of give, while lasting much longer than those made from lower-quality materials. Each one is a true masterpiece, taking over 2 hours to create.
The whisks are made with such careful attention to detail, and the bamboo tines bend easily, which makes Kubo’s chasen super strong and a real pleasure to use.
